Move your files easily onto your web hosting plan, via the FTP server
What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a protocol that allows you to store or recover your website's files on your web hosting plan.
How do I recover my FTP server address?
After you order a web hosting plan, you will receive an email with your login details.
Read our guide on how to put your website online.
Logging in using FTP
Use one of the following free software packages, and you can put your website online in FTP without any fuss at all:
FileZilla is an easy-to-use FTP client that allows users to log in to their web hosting plan remotely. For example, it will allow you to drag and drop your folders, or manage interrupted downloads. Also, with FileZilla you can use the website manager, which will allow you to manage several different web hosting plans. This software is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Cyberduck is an FTP client that also allows the user to log in to their web hosting plan easily. With a simplified navigation interface, you can manage the tree architecture of your folders, and transfer your files by simply dragging and dropping them. It also has a website manager.
This software is available for Windows and Mac OS X.

SSH is a protocol that is completely secured by data encryption. Whilst the FTP sends unencrypted data through the network, the SFTP protocol associated with SSH allows encrypted and confidential files to be transferred.
