The Gryphon z97 motherboard is available on OVH Game servers. Here it's equipped with 1,600 MHz Kingston HyperX RAM and a Intel i7 4790K processor.

OVH network

This is one of the 54 optical chassis that Cisco gave OVH in Europe. This hardware allows OVH to link up the routers in Roubaix Valley with those in Frankfurt for example. The 100G ports in this photo will be connected to the OVH network.

Deploying fibre optic

OVH chose to invest in deploying its own fibre-optic network. Managed with DWDM hardware and currently being migrated on to 100 G coherent technology, the OVH network will offer a total capacity of 3 Tbps to the global internet.

Electricity and datacentres

To supply power to its server rooms, OVH needs a huge number of electric cables. 30 kms of high-tension cables are needed to power the OVH datacentre in Strasbourg.

We've added SSD Intel DC S3300 Series hard drives with 800GB to the OVH Enterprise, Hosting and Infrastructure dedicated server ranges.

Amin and Rocket01

OVH called on two street artists, Amin from Roubaix and Rocket01 from Sheffield, to create a mural on the wall of the R&D open space. Fibres, neurones, synapses: the work reflects the intellectual and collective vivacity that radiates from this hub of innovation at OVH.

Network 2015

12 Cisco N7706 switches coupled with 10 ASR-9000 routers will be installed by the end of July. This will enable the PoPs in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Warsaw, Paris and Newark (EU) to reach 3.2 Tbps in 100 Gbps.

OVH Campus press conference

On Thursday 2 April, members of the press and local councillors visited OVH for the first OVH Campus. The goal of the European leader in web hosting is to recruit 1,000 graduates by 2019. SSD Pblaze 3L 1.2 TB hard disks are being tested in the OVH laboratory. They provide 2.4 GB/s read speed and 1.1 GB/s write speed.

Currently 350 servers are produced every week at the heart of Roubaix-Valley. In 2014, 25,000 servers were built by the production teams.

To complete the design of the server watercooling system's necessary components, OVH has recently invested in a laser. Liquid nitrogen expels the matter firstly heated by the laser.

This year, OVH embarked on a world tour of 18 dates in Europe and North America to meet its customers and present them its latest innovations and technologies. The OVH World Tour in Cologne was one of the final events in 2014, making way for an even more ambitious tour in 2015.

Once the OVH World Tour in Toronto was over, the teams debriefed about a new formula adapted to North America.

Models P3700 and P3600 from Intel's new SSD NVMe range are currently being tested on RunAbove. They are equipped with a high-speed PCI Express 3.0x4 interface, compatible with NVMe protocol and have up to 4 GB read/write speed. Latency times are reduced to a minimum and perfectly adapted for data transfers between the server and storage space.

OVH has 500 employees in Roubaix, and this number is constantly increasing. To welcome and cater for the teams in optimal conditions, the group has unveiled a new company restaurant. This is a new step to accompany the company's growth.
