This guide will help you configure your emails with Outlook 2007.
Simply follow the step-by-step tutorial.


In our example, we will configure the email account in POP without SSL. For other configurations, please use the settings at the end of this guide.

Add an account

Adding an account: Part 1

To add an email account in Outlook 2010, go to the "Account Settings" screen, as shown in the below screenshot.

Then click "New".

You now have the choice between [url=MANU #]Manual[/url] or Automatic configuration.

Manual configuration

Part 1: Configuration options

Tick "Manually configure server settings or additional server types", then "Next".

Part 2: Service options

Tick "Internet email", then click "Next >".

Part 3: Mail settings

On this page you need to enter the following information:

1. Name: Enter the name you want to be displayed to your contacts.
2. Email address: Your full email address.

3. Account type:POP3 (for IMAP see Reminder of POP & IMAP settings).
4. Incoming mail server:SSL0.OVH.NET
5. Outgoing mail server (SMTP):SSL0.OVH.NET

6. Username: Your full email address.
7. Password: Your password for this email account.

Part 4: General

1. Click "More Settings".
You can enter the account reference. By default, it is the e-mail address. Here, we have replaced it with "OVH Support".
This reference will be displayed under email account management in Outlook.

2.Click on the "Outgoing server" tab.

Part 5: Outgoing server & advanced options

In the Outgoing Server tab, tick "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", and then tick "Using the same settings as my incoming mail server".


You must use port 587 in SMTP and tick this box to connect to the outgoing server. This port is used by all Internet Service Providers (ISPs).


In the "Advanced options" tab, please enter the following:

Incoming server (POP3): should be 110.

Untick"This server requires an encrypted connection"(SSL).

Outgoing Server (SMTP) should be 587 .

Use the following type of encrypted connection: must include None

Click "OK" to continue.

At this stage, you can also define whether and when emails should be deleted from the mail server.

Part 6: Test the settings

At this stage, you can test your settings by clicking "Test Account Settings".

Part 7: Finalise the configuration

1. Once you have verified that the settings are correct, click "Next >".
2. The settings with be tested before the final stage. Then click Close.

Part 8: Congratulations!

You have correctly configured your account on Outlook 2010. Click "Finish".

Automatic Configuration in 3 clicks!

1. Entering information

1. Name: Enter the name you want to be displayed to your contacts.
2. Email address: Your full email address.
3. Password: Confirm the password for this email account on the line below.

Then click "Next >".

2. Login

The Outlook application then searches your domain to finalise the automatic configuration.
All being well, the following message should appear:

If you're considering adding several email addresses to this domain, tick "Do not ask me about this website" to prevent you having to tick this box every time you add a new email account.

Then click "Allow".

If you do not see this message, check that you have entered the correct password in Webmail.
If your password is correct, check that your DNS zone includes the following 3 lines:

_submission._tcp.votredomaine SRV 0 0 465 SSL0.OVH.NET
_imaps._tcp.votredomaine SRV 0 0 993 SSL0.OVH.NET
_autodiscover._tcp.votredomaine SRV 0 0 443 mailconfig.ovh.net.

To do this, log in to your Control Panel, select your domain in the left-hand column and then click the DNS Zone tab to the right of Summary. Make sure that you are in "Expert Mode" (top right).

3. Configuration complete

Your account is now configured correctly.
Click Finish.

Reminder of POP & IMAP settings

POP configuration

This is the information you need to configure an email in POP in Outlook 2010.

POP configuration with enabled or disabled SSL security:

Email address: Your full email address.
Password: The password configured in your Control Panel.
Username: Your full email address.
Incoming server: The incoming email server: SSL0.OVH.NET.
Incoming server port: The incoming server port: 995 or 110.
Outgoing server: The outgoing email server: SSL0.OVH.NET.
Outgoing server port: The outgoing server port: 465 or 587.

Ports 110 and 587 are for disabled SSL security.
This server needs and encrypted connection (SSL) must be unticked.
For Use the following type of encrypted connection, please select None.

Ports 995 and 465 are for enabled SSL security.
This server needs and encrypted connection (SSL) must be ticked.
For Use the following type of encrypted connection, please select SSL.

IMAP configuration

This is the information you need to configure an IMAP email account in Outlook 2010.

IMAP configuration with enabled or disabledSSL security:

Email address: Your full email address.
Password: The password configured in your Control Panel.
Username: Your full email address.
Incoming server: The incoming email server: SSL0.OVH.NET.
Incoming server port: The incoming server port: 993 or 143.
Outgoing server: The outgoing email server: b]SSL0.OVH.NET.
Outgoing server port: The outgoing server port: 465 or 587.

Ports 110 and 587 are for disabled SSL security.
This server needs and encrypted connection (SSL) must be unticked.
For Use the following type of encrypted connection, please select None.

Ports 995 and 465 are for enabled SSL security.
