To register, the owner must be either a European company or the holder of a Portuguese, European or international trade mark (since Portugal is on the list of countries covered). In addition, the following conditions must be respected:

For a European company

• The requested domain name must match with the name officially declared.
• You must provide a copy of a registration certificate or equivalent of the European company.
• You must provide a letter of authority on headed paper if you are acting on behalf of the company.

For a Portuguese, European or international trade mark

• The requested domain name must match with the brand name on the certificate of registration of the Portuguese national, international or European trademark since Portugal is on the list of countries covered. It is also possible to register a domain name based on a mark being registered. However, if the registration is denied, the domain name will be canceled.
• You must provide a certificate of registration or receipt of completing a trademark application.
• You must provide a letter of authority on headed paper if you are acting on behalf of the trademark owner.
