OVH Backups

OVH offers 2 options for backup protection of your dedicated servers.
Both options allow creating backups according to the chosen settings. Access to backup copies is free of charge.
Two options are available:

• Weekly backup
• Incremental backup

Weekly backup

After installing our software (containing rsync along with others ), our backup server will copy disk content once a week (catalogue "/").
You may indicate which catalogues should not be archived .

Attention : weekly backup isn't compatible with Windows servers.

Incremental backup

Note: The incremental backup option isn't compatible with Windows servers.
Incremental backup enables you to create a copy of high-priority data twice a day. You may store an arbitrary amount of copies (snapshots) up to your disk capacity.

• Folders to archive;
• Frequency (2 copies a day maximal);
• Number of snapshots to save

This offer is an especially useful option for backup of high-priority data, such as SQL databases

Note: incremental backup isn't compatible with Windows systems, it is only available for Linux or FreeBSD servers.

Example of use

Both options can be accumulated. This will enable the weekly backup and incremental backup of SQL databases or emails twice a day.
In case of disk problems we are able to retrieve your data free of charge.

Complete access to backup

You can retrieve a file or a folder... there are no limitations. Furthermore, the connection between your server and the backup server is unlimited.
