Virtual KVM

OVH Innovation, vKVM (Virtual Keyboard/Video/Mouse) enables you to access a distant PC even if it is not running on the network any more.
What is that?
Virtual KVM is an Ovh innovation that followed on from an idea that was launched in-house. Thanks to the virtualisation of the server, we start your server on a minimalist system: vKVM. This system enables you to launch your dedicated server in virtualisation and monitor how it starts on a screen.
You can also start your server on an ISO or on the USB flash disc thanks to ftpfs. You can then start your server on any system and carry out the handling via vKVM with the keyboard and the mouse.
Example:
For example, you are under Windows, you modify the configuration of the network....but then your server stops pinging and you are unable to connect!!
Don't worry, you can sort it out via vKVM. How? You just have to reboot your server in vKVM mode and then via the Web interface of vKVM: start your server.
Next, via a Java applet (VNC/SSL), you can follow the start up of Windows on the screen. With the keyboard you can enter the login and the password. Double click and restart the network, then reboot the server on the disc.
How does it work?

virtual KVM: it's a virtualisation tool which simulates a minimalist system on your server and starts your server on it.

Internet: server information and the information from your keyboard / mouse / screen passes through the Internet.

Keyboard / mouse / screen : your keyboard, mouse and screen allow you to control your server, as if it were physically next to you.
Get vKVM
To use it, go to the Manager. Following the reboot of your server in vKVM mode, you will receive an email and then you're good to go!
