1   Dedicated servers

Dedicated servers are housed in open racks. In the picture you can see D row in room number 1. Each rack hosts 42 dedicated servers connected to IP network and supplied by electric wiring system. Network cables (RJ45) enable the connection of every server to the rack switch. The network cables run on the left and the electric wiring on the right.

2   Switches

Each bay has its own 48-port switch. It is Cisco 2950-48. Every server uses 100Mbps connection to the switch. There is an unlimited bandwidth on the level of the bay. Therefore servers are able to communicate with the 100Mbps speed. In the picture: swict sw.40.247

3   1000baseT technology

Switch exit (uplink) with a 1,000 Mbps (1Gbps) bandwidth. We use 1000baseT technology for this. Thanks to the 1Gbps uplink, servers are able to communicate with a speed of 100Mbps without overloading the network, even if the servers aren't connected to the same switch of a rack space.

4   Distribution routers

The uplink of each switch is connected to the distribution router with a bandwidth of 1000Mbps. It is Cisco 6k, the case has double power supply and double router cards. In case of a breakdown of one card, the other takes over its function in less than 3 seconds on the level of switching. In the picture: router p19-5-c1

5   Synchronisation

Each distribution router has two 1Gbps fiber-optic (GBIC SX) uplinks. Each uplinks is connected to its router card, that means that in the case of a failure of one card, the other uplink and its card is used.

6   Infrastructures with several servers

Each router manages four C-class network, that is 4x256 IP. A distribution router is used for reducing the bandwidth of each server but only on its link to the Internet. It means that the server communication is held with 100Mbps. Our clients may obtain one dedicated web server and one SQL,and they will communicate with 100Mbps speed for free. The only condition is the servers connection to the same IP class, that is to the same router.

7   In case of a breakdown

Uplinks of each distribution router reach two backbone routers. In case of a breakdown of one of them, the whole traffic passes through the other one. In the picture: backbone router p19-2-6k

8   Optical fibres

We use dark optical fibres cables to connect five datacenters in a double network circuit. Therefore we can place our own equipment (GBIC LX lub ZX) at any time to manage the network or to increase its capacity if needed.

9   Peerings

Backbone routers are linked with each other via 2Gbps in two separate internal circuits. If one of the circuit is cut off, each router is still connected with the rest by the second internal circuit. Both circuits pass through five datacenters in Paris 19, Telehouse 1, Telehouse 2, Global Switch and Redbus. In the picture: backbone router th2-1-6k.
