1 Our WEB servers
To allow the web hosting service, it is necessary to have web servers. OVH has about 650 machines that operate web requests. Each of them is a part of cluster for a single plan and operates as part of the web connections. Many of these machines allow management during high traffic peaks.

2 Our SQL servers
Not only are web servers crucial, but so are SQL servers. The amount of these need to be sufficient and they must have at least 2GB RAM memory. We use supermicro cases for these servers as it is impossible to have two network cards on a motherboard in a standard case. Each SQL server is connected to two different routers configured in such a way that their functioning is undisturbed, even in case of a network breakdown.

3 Our file servers
File servers. Base of web hosting - base of OVH. Our job is to store data. Websites are stored on servers that have either 16 1,5 or 10 RAID disks. A single disk may be damaged but the data stored on it will not disappear.

4 Server - 4 CPU

5 Linux file server - Netapp
We use Linux (RAID 1, 10 or 5) and Netapp (RAID 4) for our file servers. The Netapp heads (blue) administer the NFS connections while data are stored on the shelfs (black). There are also Linux 3U servers with 16 disks. Each head administers about 5000GB of data. The Linux servers administer 3TB (3000GB) of data.

6 Netapp
For example, Netapp disks connected using optical fibres. Each Netapp has double the power supply. The shelf's have also double the amount of power supply (green) and 7 disks per shelf (yellow).

7 Cisco Routers
The switching and routing is ensured by Cisco 6k routers with 1000baseT cards (1000Mbps RJ45 copper). 3 Cisco 6k routers manage our web hosting. In the picture: p19-1-c1 with two routing cards and five 1000baseT 48-port cards (there are only 3 cards in the picture but several others have been added recently)
